Rev. Kathleen Puntar
Kathleen Puntar was welcomed as the new pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Lompoc, beginning this July. Recently relocating to Lompoc, she moved from the town of Bishop in the eastern Sierra. The Rev. Puntar has been a pastor in the United Methodist Church for over thirty years, serving churches in Bishop, Yorba Linda, Big Bear Lake, Wrightwood, Yucaipa and Pomona. She is a native Californian and graduated from Occidental College and Fuller Theological Seminary. She remembers visiting La Purisima Mission, Lompoc, Solvang, and Buellton on family vacations.
"I've always loved the Central Coast of California, with its rolling hills, oak trees and beaches, so I am delighted to be able to now live here and I'm looking forward to exploring its beauty and special places," stated Pastor Puntar. "I'm also excited to be a part of the mission and ministry of this amazing church, with its focus on music and its long history of outreach to our Lompoc community."
In her ministry, Pastor Puntar shares the love and joy of a strong relationship with Christ, with an emphasis in discipleship, teaching, and empowering people to put their faith into action, transforming communities and the world. First UMC of Lompoc invites the community to join them in welcoming Pastor Kathleen Puntar and to Sunday worship at 10:30 a.m. Please check out the church's website at lompocumc.org for more information.
