Mission Outreach plans monthly Sharing Trees that support  programs of the 1st United Methodist Church and other projects locally, nationally or internationally. This includes the following programs for 2008:  Books for Guatemala Libraries, UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) , Transition House, ( A home for women with substance abuse problems and their children), Phone Cards for the Military,  Meals on Wheels, GYTTE “Give Ye Them To Eat” (A program for Mexico), Start-Up Fund for Funeral Receptions for 1st United Methodist Church, Lifesaver Project, (A monitoring bracelet program for those who become lost and cannot return home on their own),  Heifer International, NAMI (Mental Health), Cards for Conference Missionaries and the two Advent Trees this December will be for Toys for Tots and the Food Pantry.

In addition, we have a program called Kin Kloset where we work with three schools to assist children.  A nurse or counselor will call our Mission Outreach representative and tell them about a child that needs clothing, underwear, etc..  Our representative will purchase and deliver new items to the school for the child.

Monthly we take donated items to the Food Pantry, and also clothing items and other needed items to the Second Time Around Thrift Shop which supports those in the Domestic Violence Solutions Program.

Once a month we “Feed the Hungry” at St. Timothy Antiochian Orthodox Church.  We plan on feeding up to 50 people every month.
